The echo published a story yesterday quoting a letter written by Jeremy Hunt to James Duddridge.  Please see a copy of the letter below.

The extra £8 billion promised for the NHS by 2022 is estimated to be about £12 billion short of what is actually needed by both the OBR (Office of Budget Responsibility) and Prof Anita Charlesworth, director of research and economics at the Health Foundation and former director of public spending at the Treasury.  It will in fact see a reduction in the % of national income spent on the NHS, down from 7.3% to 7%.

Does this reassure YOU that the NHS and our A&E at Southend are safe in a Tory government’s hands?
